Article Abstract:

A survey reveals that treating employees with respect and dignity is critical to retaining good workers, especially in a better job market. A management's failure to demonstrate respect to employees is the main reason for them to leave their jobs, and hence recognition of employees' achievements, encouraging innovation, handling their complaints fairly and rewarding them for jobs well done are some of the ways for employers to show workers respect and retain them.

Yielding the best teachers, leaders

Article Abstract:

Ken Schroeder, CEO of KLA-Tencor, have put Noel M. Tichy's idea, 'winning leaders are teachers', into practice. KLA-Tencor, by implementing an in-house executive development program concentrating on strategic thinking, operational excellence, sales, marketing, program execution, and competitive workforces, is able to educate 450 executives at the same cost of what it could to send 20 executives for offsite training.
