Strategic job analysis

Article Abstract:

Strategic job analysis (SJA), which is performed to specify the knowledge, skills, abilities, and tasks required for a job as it is forecasted to exist in the future, is a valuable technique given the likelihood of continued change in organizations and in job structures. Strategic planning for the creation of a variety of personnel procedures can be enhanced by using SJA, especially when utilizing new techniques for gathering data about the future which allows for the comparison of future and present ratings based on predicted external and internal changes in organizations.

Conditions for the success of peer evaluation

Article Abstract:

The successful implementation of a peer evaluation system depends on full support at top management level and a full understanding of the beneficial nature of peer evaluation on the workforce. The clear establishment of a reward system will help workers see the advantages of peer appraisals, even when related to group work. The use of a peer evaluation model will assess the impact of such an appraisal system within a specific organisation.

Strategic determinants of managerial labor markets: a career systems view

Article Abstract:

A four-cell typology of career systems is developed to describe how executive labor markets are reflected by varied corporate strategies. Executive career paths are examined using a ten-year longitudinal study of 125 MBA graduates to demonstrate how executives select career systems. The resultant model successfully links the fields of corporate career systems, corporate strategy, and individual career development.
