Experts define trends in real estate

Article Abstract:

Pension funds will probably continue to increase real estate investments, though they do not belong in traditional asset classes such as stocks or bonds. Real estate investment trusts (REITs) as opportunistic investments offer creative alternative financing openings such as single-family gap funding for home-building. While investors may be wary of real estate as value fluctuates, more pension fund firms are risking investments in the high-yield REIT market.

Asset allocation and the time horizon complete the picture

Article Abstract:

Investors should keep in mind that the asset-allocation decision does not only concern the particular mix of assets to be chosen. Asset allocation also concerns the appropriate time horizon in which one can optimize the benefits coming from the investment choice. Investors should evaluate the basic factors affecting the selection process, the risk-and-return profile and the factors affecting the time horizon.
