Would you trust your foreign manager? an empirical investigation

Article Abstract:

Firms which operate a policy of employing workers of the same nationality benefit from a higher degree of respect and trust at management level, according to research. Multinational companies benefit from establishing a clear policy of employing people of similar but not necessarily the same national background. This policy is considered to create the best environment for managers and workers to benefit from maximum trust.

National culture and its impact on the choice of managing director in international production: the case of foreign firms in Greece

Article Abstract:

This paper examines the affect of national culture on the decision to select the top managing directors of foreign affiliates in Greece. Empirical findings indicate that the greater the national culture distance of the foreign firm's home country the greater the probability of its employing a local managing director.
