High tension

Article Abstract:

Insurance companies covering the energy sector must revise their underwriting policies in anticipation of changes brought by the deregulation of the electric utility industry. While the passage of the federal Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act gave rise to business opportunities for insurers, it also contributed to the difficulty of catering to the energy market. That is why insurance companies must take precautions in dealing with clients in the electric utility industry. Insurance agents and brokers must also establish a risk profile for energy-related policies.
