Intuit Inc formed a venture with Essex Corp to offer an online service called SureQuote that enables banks to sell insurance. The system relies on multiple insurance carriers to provide term life rate quotes to bank customers. Meanwhile, InsWeb, a Web site that provides insurance data and quotes to insurance companies, is also planning to introduce its own version of an online insurance system for banks.
