Much ado about PSOs

Article Abstract:

Provider Sponsored Organizations (PSOs) are new health insurance providers that function like health maintenance organizations (HMOs) but differ in terms of licensing and other requirements. PSOs solvency laws are much lenient and they have the potential of serving communities that HMOs avoid due to low Medicare capitation rates. PSOs are expected to enter into communities where there is weak Medicare payment rate.
