Filmmakers seeking Internet distribution, beware; putting a motion picture on the Web runs risk of giving up important rights in the film

Article Abstract:

Some of the considerations involved in the decision to show a film on the Internet are discussed. These include a filmmaker's deciding how much of the total package of rights should be bargained away and which of these rights the filmmaker is giving up if negotations on Internet distribution are completed before deals on the film in other media.

'Techno-torts' pose new challenges for litigators; Internet crimes ranging from hacking, defamation and complex market fraud abound

Article Abstract:

Some of the new Internet market fraud schemes are discussed. The few avenues open to a company libeled on the Internet and the common law claims with regard to Internet postings, which include libel, securities fraud, and breach of fiduciary duty or employment contract, are discussed.
