The challenge of "rebalancing"; reassessing the relationship of technology to profitability is essential

Article Abstract:

Rebalancing, a new office management concept, may help law firms who have assessed their expertise, client base and automation status to figure out how to better use technology to enhance profits. The right technology can enhance the work product's quality and the law firm's turnaround time. Technology can also help in generating documents specifically tailored to clients' needs. Technology may be able to generate business with services such as monitoring emerging issues in a field clients may be interested in.

Article Abstract:

There is a good deal of legal software which can make litigation text searches faster, combining text retrieval with abstracting and indexing capabilities. Examples include Stenograph Legal Services' Discovery Pro and Summation Legal Technologies' Summation Blaze. Stenograph Legal Services' Discovery ZX as well as Summation II and Cat-Links 5.0 are easier for beginners to use. Discovery Video, a multimedia tool, is made by the same company as Discovery ZX and indicates what litigation technology may become.
