Protection of women employees before and after childbirth in Turkish employment law

Article Abstract:

Turkey had to change several of its laws to conform to the requirements of the European Union (EU) and the International Labor Organization (ILO) including protection of women employees before and after childbirth under its Employment Act. Problems however remain both in the provisions of the Act as well as in the situation of many women employees not covered by it and these are analyzed and possible solutions suggested.
