What's up with HotDocs; document assembly for beginners or pros, with Net user groups, how-tos

Article Abstract:

Various companies making document assembly software are competing for law firms' technology budgets, and the document assembly program HotDocs is one easy-to-use example. HotDocs is doubly versatile because many state and federal forms are being adapted for it and it became part of the softare suite WordPerfect Legal Edition in 1997. Matthew Bender and Co has purchased the company that created the software.

Calendars a-go-go; pocket-sized devices now communicate with desktop computers

Article Abstract:

Electronic calendars have progressed enough to have consumer appeal. One example if the Avigo made by Texas Instruments, which comes with the Lotus Organizer and is compatible with programs including Microsoft Outlook97. Another is PalmPilot made by US Robotics. Portability is always the prime requirement and the device must communicate with the office computer.

While you were out... converting phone messages to e-mail archives saves time, creates database

Article Abstract:

Attorneys with networked computers in their offices should purchase software which creates archives of telephone messages converted to electronical mail. Offices which are only partially networked might have to compromise and confine electronic messaging just to those on the network. The archive will grow chronologically and save much time.
