NTL secures third place in UK cable

Article Abstract:

NTL said it will evaluate the programs supply deals of ComTel and Diamond Cable, the two cable operators it has acquired. An added market leverage was given NTL after the acquisition, according to John Gregg, managing director for corporate development at the NTL Group. NTL will be covering 5.2 million homes because of the additional 1.1 million homes covered by ComTel's franchise territories and the 1.2 million homes by Diamond. ComTel was paid 550 million British pounds sterling for the franchise while Diamond was given 380 million British pounds sterling.
