A veteran's memories from the sulphur sands of Iwo Jima

Article Abstract:

Fiorenzo V. Lopardo replaced by Capt Robert Carney while shipping to Camp Tarawa on the big Island of Hawaii describes his role at the island of Iwo Jima when his ship, the USS Lubbock sank. On the board he was responsible to see to it that everybody on the ship was taken care of and all of the equipments were ready to go out when they went ashore.
