New Danish combat support ships offer greater flexibility for NATO operations

Article Abstract:

Denmark's new 6,300-tonne flexible combat support ships HDMS Absalon (L 16) and Esbern Snare (L 17) are on schedule to reach full operational capability by the end of 2007, and at least one of the new Danish flexible combat support ships will be certified for participation in the NATO Response Force. The range of capabilities on the ships will offer unprecedented flexibility of use both within a national and NATO context.

Danish land forces plan to get networked

Article Abstract:

Denmark awarded an initial contract to Terma A/S and Systematic Software Engineering A/S to develop and demonstrate system architecture and integration concept on which the Danish Army is to build its Network-Based Operations/Command & Control Information System (NBO/CIS) capability. With this the military will be able to run a range of in-service and future applications including the new battlefield management system.
