AGS again - the achievement of the impossible

Article Abstract:

NATO's AGS (alliance ground surveillance) is a very important component of the future European ISR architecture, the NATO response force and also the key enabler of transatlantic cooperation and military transformation of Alliance forces for the 21st century. The U.S. E-8C joint surveillance target attack radar system (JSTARS), the United Kingdom's airborne standoff reconnaissance (ASTOR) programme and NATO transatlantic advanced radar (NATAR) are some of the recent achievements of AGS.

Armour deployment common sense, anyone?

Article Abstract:

The impact of the C-130 air transportability syndrome on Armored Fighting Vehicle (AFV) design and an objective analysis of the possibilities and limits of air transport are described. It is noted that the perception of Western AFV deployment and development is headed for a dangerous dead-end.
