Armoured Land Rover supports Czech forces

Article Abstract:

The Czech Military Police serving in Iraq and Czech Army units in Afghanistan are using an armoured Land Rover variant, developed by SVOS, the Czech ballistic protection specialist in 2006. The vehicles are modified to accept the ballistic protection kit, which includes three doors, windshield, rear side-walls and roof, with the non-transparent parts made of a special steel sheet and the floor protection in the base arrangement designed to sustain the impact of a 0.5 kg hand grenade.

Czech Army BVP-2 Infantry Combat Vehicles benefit from enhanced night-vision capability

Article Abstract:

The Czech Army is receiving 100 BVP-2 Infantry Combat Vehicles with a complete upgrade of night-vision capability under a contract of USD 10 million with Meopta-optika. The Czech BVP-2 vehicles are also receiving the new DND-5 driver's night vision device, which can be used either as a common passive II viewer or, with a suitably filtered IR floodlight, as an observation aid.
