Breaking loose? Russia flexes muscles as US moves in

Article Abstract:

Russia has accused the U.S. of seeking to impose its will upon the world though an almost uncontrolled, hyper use of force in international relations, and has threatened to withdraw from the Intermediate Nuclear Forces. However, despite increased defence spending, Russia is finding difficult to maintain its existing nuclear forces and substantive nuclear rearmament will be at the expense of conventional programmes.

Baltic states tempting target for crime syndicates

Article Abstract:

The three Baltic accession states, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia are riddled with organized crime, which have an impact on political relations and inward investment. The fight against the organized crime in the region will depend on progress in reducing the demand for drugs in Western Europe and combat the entrenched mafia in Russia.

Canada: soft target for crime

Article Abstract:

Both the Canadian and US governments are becoming increasingly concerned about rising crime rate in Canada. Of particular concern, are drug smuggling and the potential for terrorism.
