China boosts border security

Article Abstract:

China's failure to defend territory from outsiders has led China to regard the defense of territory as a primary task through defining, refining, and asserting control over the China's sovereign territory. Increased trade ties and shared interest in countering activities such as drugs and people smuggling has led to a degree of co-operation between China and Vietnam on managing their mutual border.

Japan, ChinaEs biggest neighbor in East Asia expressed its great concern over ChinaEs SARS epidemic and provided huge monetary and material support. President Hu Jintao stated that improving and developing Sino-Japanese ties was of greater significance in the new century with constantly changing international and regional situations.
