Close air support and the modern warfighter

Article Abstract:

The need for coordination between the Army and the Air Force during warfighting to bring about effective air-to-ground integration has been highlighted. In the post-World War II era, this kind of integration was not possible due to lack of equipment and training. However, in January 2003 the two services came together and discussed topics ranging from Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) development to Joint Close Air Support in order to move towards effective integration.
