Combined arms: losing the effects?

Article Abstract:

The integration of combined arms as defined by the doctrinal publications of Marine Corps has been an integral part for combined arms training. The present day training of combined arms at the company and battalion levels have become unrealistic, ineffective and an inefficient use of the weapons.

A successful program of cross-training between the US' 3d Marine Division and a British unit in Hong Kong existed in the early 1970s. A marine officer who participated in the program narrates his experience.
