Article Abstract:

Improvised explosive devices (IED) cause the most number of deaths involvingUS and coalition troops in Iraq and Afghanistan because insurgents can easily prepare and acquire these. High-tech jamming devices can be used to delay both a remote control and timing device against IEDs or aircrafts could perform a "courtesy burn" of wide areas and prematurely detonating IEDs that are activated by radio frequencies.
