Dutch receive first forward observer Fennek

Article Abstract:

The Royal Netherlands Army (RNLA) has received the first of 37 forward-observer variants of the new Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) Fennek 4 by 4 light armoured reconnaissance vehicle. The new features of Fennek VWRN include a second battlefield management system (BMS) display for the fire support officer, a Honeywell-supplied TALIN 3000 tactical advanced land inertial navigation system and extra radio capacity to assist the crew in requesting fire support from airborne, land or naval weapon platforms.

Italy and Spain move toward co-operation in the development of Vulcano projectile

Article Abstract:

The Italian and Spanish governments are in the process of discussions that are expected to lead to signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) governing Spanish participation in development and production of the Vulcano 155 mm artillery projectile, in both its extended-range (ER) and long-range (LR) versions. Prime contractor for Vulcano is Italy's Oto Melara, which reports strong interest in a number of other NATO countries, for both land and naval applications.

IVECO's new novel light multirole vehicle offers a 'citadel' for mine blast protection

Article Abstract:

Industrial Vehicle Corporation (IVECO) has developed a novel light multirole vehicle (LMV) that defends the crew against hand grenades, armor-piercing bullets and anti-personnel mines. The IVECO Defense Vehicles Division has already received orders from three different countries and there are prospects of several further orders.
