Article Abstract:

The Coyote unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is designed to be launched from the sonobuoy chute of a patrol plane and it might prove feasible as an alternative to other small, ground-launched UAVs. The 12-pound Coyote's makers at Advanced Ceramics Research (ACR) Inc. in Tucson, Arizona, are assessing its potential as a surveillance or communications platform that would be launched from a Humvee or a submarine undersea.
