Finland seeks to boost situational awareness with multisensor fusion and tracking system

Article Abstract:

Finland is developing a nationwide multisensor fusion and tracking situational awareness system in order to enhance its network-centric warfare capability. The Finnish system is based on an EADS Defense Electronics technology known as MSI (multisensor integration) and it is used by the Finnish Defense Forces (FDF) to keep track of what is happening in the country's air space.

Naval EO weapon control--The passive option gets stronger

Article Abstract:

Electro-optical tracking systems use fire-control systems (FCS) to measure the behavior of the approaching surface and air targets in clear weather and through rain, light fog and smoke. There is no way that the target can know that a FCS is tracking it, hence the ship's survivability when facing enemy anti-radiation missiles increases.
