Halter Marine to build sixth Pathfinder AGS

Article Abstract:

Halter Marine Group has been awarded a $53.6-million Naval Sea Systems Command contract to build a sixth Pathfinder-class oceanographic survey ship, T-AGS 65. The Pathfinder-class ships, four of which are already under operation and a fifth under construction, provide physical, chemical and biological oceanography missions; conduct environmental investigations; and perform ocean engineering adn marine acoustics tasks. The scheduled delivery for the sixth Pathfinder is in Dec 2001.

Northrop Grumman Jamming system to equip EA-18G EW jet

Article Abstract:

Boeing Integrated Defense Systems has selected Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems to adapt the Increased Capability III (ICAP III) electronic warfare system to the new carrier based EA-18G electronic combat aircraft. Northrop Grumman will install the ICAP III system, that is under development and low rate production for the EA-6B Prowler jamming aircraft, into the new aircraft under a system development and demonstration subcontract.

Textron Marine begins LCAC service-life extension program

Article Abstract:

Textron Marine & Land Systems will upgrade 3 of the 74-strong US LCAC fleet for $35 million. The firm also won a $91 million Yamada International/Japan Defense Agency bid to build two LCACs.
