Kongsberg develops upgrade for Stryker weapons station

Article Abstract:

Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace is developing a first major block upgrade for the Protector remote weapons station (RWS) that it supplies to the US Army. Under an eight month, US$10 million contract awarded in mid-2004, the various improvements undertaken by the company for the weapons station, used extensively on US Army General Dynamics Stryker 8x8 armored vehicles in Iraq and elsewhere are highlighted.

Norway's Fridtjof Nansen-class frigates to provide a key strategic advantage

Article Abstract:

The F310, first of five Fridtjot Nansen-class Aegis-equipped frigates for the Royal Norwegian Navy (RNoN) declares its launch on 5 May 2004, at the Izar shipyard in Ferrol in Spain's northwestern province of Galicia. The frigates are optimized for anti-submarine warfare, considered to update their onboard systems with a long-term view to match them to the changing NATO requirements.
