Long-range strike in a hurry

Article Abstract:

The United States Air Force has decided to speed up its bomber replacement with a system of systems approach, as it wants a long-range strike capability. The existing fleet of B-1B, B-2 and B-52H heavy bombers, new unmanned systems, updated bombers, an F/A-22 derivative and conventionally armed ballistic missiles are all being weighed as options for meeting future long-range strike requirements.

The future missile force

Article Abstract:

The retirement of Peacekeeper missiles would free resources to incorporate modernization of 500 remaining LGM-30 Minuteman IIIs. The Air Force has launched a series of programs to ensure the Minutemen remains reliable and effective and the primary upgrades included in the Minutemen III are detailed.

The Osprey factor

Article Abstract:

The Osprey V-22 tilt-rotor is the backbone of Air Force Special Operations Commands and the Air Force expects the aircraft to become even more important. The CV-22 will replace the aging MH-53 Pave Low helicopters.
