Marine Corps strives to consolidate aviation training

Article Abstract:

The Marine Corps are developing the concept for an aviation training center in order to keep the simulator training up to date, make it as efficient as possible and get simulators to work together for combined training. The new approach solves the problems of incompatible flight simulators, inconsistent training standards, and inappropriate training.

Navy's new battle stations 21: The ultimate final exam

Article Abstract:

A series of simulated exercises are developed by the Navy to present new recruits with the ultimate 12-hour final exam. The future Battle Stations 21 will be the replica of Arleigh Bruke-class destroyers, and the recruits will be tested for their ability to make decisions in a highly stressed environment while thinking about the effect on the unit.

The Navy is changing training course from the conventional methods to new self-taught techniques with personal motivation being a major factor for growth and skill objects playing an important role in career advancement. Crews for the Littoral Combat Ship are the first to undergo training under this modern pattern and test for induction.
