Maritime patrol aircraft-the new generation

Article Abstract:

The emergence of a new generation of maritime patrol aircraft (MPA), which will include new design technologies such as stealth, low observability and composites, is not expected to happen soon. Though most nations will agree to the importance played by these types of aircraft in the conduct of modern military operations, the expense necessary to produce the next generation MPAs becomes a disincentive. MPAs are also more often than not the target of military cutbacks and savings.

Maritime patrol aircraft: The new generation

Article Abstract:

The maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) programs being undertaken by individual western countries and NATO operators can hardly be considered as next generation aircraft but represent what type of MPA is feasible in the next 10 to 15 years. The MPA-user nations are undertaking MPA programs aimed to guarantee that the current fleet of MPAs remain honorably in service and that they retain unaltered effectiveness when in comes to engaging in maritime military missions.
