Master peace: Internal Security Vehicles mobilise for homeland protection duties

Article Abstract:

Internal Security Vehicles (ISVs) are gaining popularity in many countries due to the terrorist threats in different parts of the world. Off-the-shelf 4*4 vehicles are adopted in many countries and most of these vehicles are unarmed apart from smoke grenade launchers although some are fitted with a one-person turret armed with 7.62 mm machine gun (MG).

NBC reconnaissance vehicles are advancing from the wilderness

Article Abstract:

A higher number of civil authorities are purchasing NBC (nuclear, biological and chemical) or BC detection systems as well as the essential decontamination equipment with an increased threat from terrorism in many parts of the world. Theses systems are usually operated by specialized units or in some cases existing fire brigade or civil defence units.

North American cooperation in an era of homeland security

Article Abstract:

A deep-seated conviction reveals that the northern part of the North American continent cannot be regarded as a security problem. The arrangements to be made at the border to stop unwanted transit between countries and the Canadian-American military cooperation after 9/11 are discussed.
