A road well traveled

Article Abstract:

All levels of government are said to be at fault for the inept response of Hurricane Katrina, but the focus is more on the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its primary disaster relief arm, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). However, according to some emergency management experts, the Washington avalanche of investigative reports and recommendations is akin to a road well traveled.

Power-dense gas turbines give warships a boost

Principal operating requirements for future warships like continuous long-range cruising and occasional bursts of high speed has led to giving importance to gas turbines. Rolls-RoyceEs response to this growing demand that led to the development of Rolls-Royee MT30 engine is discussed.
