Article Abstract:

Rapid and continuous changes in Italy's geopolitical scene, since 1989, have led to a complete re-definition of the Italian Navy's role, shifting the focus from East West confrontation of the Cold War to the fight against international terrorism and controlling the flow of migrants. A list of the all the missions undertaken by the Italian Navy since 2002 to 2004 is presented.
