Myths, misperceptions, and reality of the ground fires triad

Article Abstract:

Artillery Operational Advisory Group articulated the basic premise for the triad in the 10 January 2000 Ground Fire Support Paper to the four division commanders and department of Plans, Policies, and Operations stating a need for 'triad' of short, medium, and long-range fire support systems that have complementary and mutually supporting capabilities. One of the institutional constraints that has affected decisions regarding triad is the limitation on artillery force structure growth.
