Network-Centric-Warfare-The European initiatives

Article Abstract:

The European NATO allies are beginning to field network-enabled capabilities that are seen as a pre-requisite for a true Network-Centric Warfare (NCW) capability. The idea of NCW is to collect intelligence for rapid processing, analysis, and interpretation and to share timely battlespace information between decision-makers at all command levels and the individual warfighter.

European armed forces consider C4ISR systems

Article Abstract:

The influence of the advanced command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) digital information technology on the European armed forces to achieve information dominance is discussed. The SAR, ISAR, radar, long-range EO sensors and hyperspectral sensing are the new technologies adapted by the European armed forces.

Building the NATO AGS

Article Abstract:

NATO's selection of Transatlantic Industrial Partnership for Surveillance (TIPS) consortium' bid for its Airborne Ground Surveillance (AGS) program marks a significant step in the advancement for the Alliance's ISR capabilities. A review of the current status of the program and a study of AGS system's mixed fleet architecture and its core sensors are presented.
