New attack submarine: the next capital ship?

Article Abstract:

Electric Boat and Newport News Shipbuilding will team up to design and build the New Attack Submarine (NSSN) for the US Navy. The New attack Submarine will be stealthy, fast and can travel an unlimited distance and endure any mission requirement. The submarine will be smaller and will cost less than traditional underwater vessels but will be more capable due to high technology capabilities. The attack submarine can perform multirole missions and attain the desired objectives due to its versatility.

Redefining tech support

Article Abstract:

The Operation Readiness Test System Tech Assist Remote Support, pioneered by the US Naval Surface Warfare center at Port Hueneme, California, redefines the Navy's current notion of long-distance technical support, and is improving readiness and reliability during its initial deployment. It is a trouble shooting, maintenance and training system for Aegis that seamlessly links ships and support communities.
