New obligations, new challenges, new prospects

Article Abstract:

Nikolay Svinarov, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Bulgaria, describes about the achievement of full NATO membership and also summarizes the new challenges, obligations, and new prospects faced by the Bulgarian armed forces. The top priority of the armed forces is the modernization of armament and other equipment according to NATO standards and requirements as well as ensuring sustainability and effective interoperability.

General Saleh Bin Ali Al Mohaya, chief of staff of the Royal Saudi Armed Forces discusses about the strategy adopted for national defence on the light of the vast area of the Kingdom and its extended borders. He started his military career as an officer in the Air Defence units, and was subsequently assigned to different commanding posts in the Saudi Armed Forces before being appointed as a Chief of Staff.
