Norway's compact defense industry stays focused on high technology niches

Article Abstract:

A debate regarding to what extent Norway's defense ministry must actively support its national defense industry is presented. Many companies such as Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KDA), Nammo and Thales Communications AS are making efforts to enter Lockheed Martin's F-35A Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) market with direct participation possibilities in the area of composite parts production, and the arresting gear for the F-35C carrier-based variant of the JSF.

Latest Thales thermal imagers will feature in Dutch CV9035 infantry fighting vehicles

Article Abstract:

Thales would be supplying the latest types of third-generation, cooled, thermal-imaging cameras to the 184 BAE Systems Land Systems Hagglunds CV9035 Mk III infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) for the Royal Netherlands Army (RNLA). The Claire mid-wave infrared (IR) thermal imaging camera from the Thales Land & Joint Optronics Systems, the Netherlands, provides a very long range for detection, recognition and identification purposes.

EADS reacts to vehicle protection concerns

Article Abstract:

EADS Defense Electronics has increased efforts to promote its TransProtec protected transport container concept. EADS has developed TransProtec in partnership with Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and aims to fulfill the German requirement for up to 20 protected people movers for use in crisis response operations.
