Patria's AMV enters production phase

Article Abstract:

The Polish Ministry of National Defense (MND) will shortly receive the first two production-standard Patria vehicles Armored Modular Vehicles (AMVs) in 8x8 configuration from the principal local industry partner of Patria, Wojskowe Zaklady Mechaniczne (WZM) in Siemianowice Slaskie. The contract between the MND and WZM covers 690 AMVs in 10 different subvariants and it is planned that the Polish Land Forces will equip eight battalions with AMVs.

Finnish order means boost for Patria AMV program

Article Abstract:

The Finnish Defense Forces (FDF) has ordered a further 62 Patria Vehicles XC-360 Armored Modular Vehicle (AMV) 8 x 8 armored personnel carriers (APCs) under a EUR96-million contract signed on 22 December 2004. The XC-360s will provide increased protection as well as better night-fighting capability compared to the Patria (SISU) PaSi (XA) family of 6 x 6 vehicles used so far by Finland's rapid-reaction and peacekeeping forces.

Poland selects night-vision goggle system

Article Abstract:

Przemyslowe Centrum Optyki (PCO) of Warsaw has developed the PNL-3 night-vision goggle (NVG) which will be Poland's standard NVG system, recommended for use on all Polish military aircraft. The contract covers up to 350 PNL-3 sets, indicating that the entire force will be equipped with the PCO NVGs.
