Personal protection solutions for today's armed conflicts

Article Abstract:

Battles between national forces are giving way to multinational antiterrorist/counter-guerilla operations due to change in the nature of warfare over the last decades. Hence terms like 'homeland security' and 'low-intensity conflict' have become integral parts of military planning and strategy which has brought about fundamental changes in the concept of armour protection for individuals serving in military and security units.

Facing the threat of global terrorism

Article Abstract:

The President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf has condemned global terrorism and has clarified that terrorism is not linked with any religion, especially Islam. He has proposed a two-pronged strategy for enlightened moderation and has stated that the Muslim world will reject terrorism and extremism and go for socio-economic development if the West will move to resolve the political disputes.

Redefining Pakistan's national security

Article Abstract:

The 9/11 terrorist attacks in the US have altered the strategic milieu of South Asia, especially Pakistan's external security dynamics. Post 9/11, Pakistan has emerged as a nation more secure in its own identity within the region and in its own security, which has allowed it to go ahead with peace process with India.
