Poland accepts Loara SPAAG into service

Article Abstract:

The high-readiness 10th (PL) Armored Cavalry Brigade of Swietoszow accepted the first production-standard Loara PZA self-propelled anti-aircraft gun system (SPAAG), equipped with two Oerlikon Contraves 35mm KDA guns, on 9 December 2004. The PZA Loara is described as having the capability to detect, track, identify, engage and destroy aerial targets within less than 10 seconds and operate either independently or as part of a networked air-defense system.

MIDS moves on to software waveforms

Article Abstract:

EADS Defense Electronics would supply eight MIDS (Multifunctional Information Distribution System), Low Volume Terminals (LVT) for a project under a subcontract to IBM Germany, enabling the frigates to exchange tactical data with other Link 16-equipped ships and aircraft. EADS Defense Electronics has delivered more than 430 power amplifiers to the US MIDS programme until now.
