QuickCheck - a heavy handful

Article Abstract:

Cummins Corp has released the QuickCheck diagnostic computer for electronic diesel engines. The palm-sized device is capable of capturing SAE J1587 engine data from almost any engine with the appropriate vehicle harness and downloading the information to a personal computer. The Cummins QuickCheck computer reads such engine data as intake manifold temperature, fault codes, output torque, throttle, engine hours to-date, percentage of engine load, oil and boost pressure, coolant temperature and engine speed.

Radstone Technology Corp has released a 3/4ATRS 404A-compliant avionics enclosure that is aimed at the helicopter and fighter aircraft market. The eight-slot ARINC enclosure, which weighs only 5.9 kg, features the latest VME64 extension capabilities in a compact design. Radstone's avionics enclosure, which also features removable I/O panels, is also equipped with line replaceable 250-Watt power supplies that can be customized for a particular aircraft's needs.
