Article Abstract:

The relationship between the US and Russia has withered due to divergent paths, despite open professions of mutual respect and meeting of the US President George W. Bush and Russian President Vladimir Putin in May 2005. The lack of enthusiasm from both sides has led to very little effort to build serious NATO-Russian partnership since the initial discussions of the mid-1990s.
