SDR-3002 platform gets software-defined radio brief for research and development

Article Abstract:

FlexComm SDR-3002 International Military Communications Rapid Prototyping and Development Platform (IMRDP) is selected by the Turkish company Aselsan for research and development of software-defined radio (SDR) and software communications architecture (SCA) technologies. The SDR-3002 IMRDP is a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) platform providing a turnkey processing system used for rapid prototyping, development and deployment of wide and narrowband waveforms.

Prototype UAE Armed Forces Infantry combat vehicle nears in-country tests

Article Abstract:

Domestic testing of a prototype, unnamed tracked infantry combat vehicle (ICV) is due to start in July 2007. The vehicle that can accommodate up to ten dismounts and two crew members has a gross weight of 45 tonnes, STANAG 4569 Level 5 ballistic protection, underbody safety against TM57 mines, maximum speed of 60 Km/h and road range of 600 kilometers.
