Article Abstract:

The blend of military, humanitarian and civilian law-enforcement capabilities of the United States Coast Guards makes them capable of protecting the public, the environment, the U.S. economic and security interests and provides the nation with unique benefits. To improve its capabilities, the U.S. Coast Guards have developed strategic goals for each of its key mission areas, which consists of maritime safety, national defense, maritime security, maritime mobility, and protection of natural resources.

He states that the Coast Guard has to do the job of patching together ships and planes that need to be sent to bone yard as they are in worse condition.
