Singapore revamps its intelligence services

Article Abstract:

The Singapore government is restructuring its intelligence services to counter the threat from Al-Qaeda, Jemaah Islamiyya and others, following the 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States. The way the new restructured intelligence service is dealing with the terrorist threats, especially from the Jemaah Islamiyya and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), is examined.

Peacekeeping intelligence

Article Abstract:

The second annual Peacekeeping Intelligence Conference was held in Ottawa, where the challenges of intelligence liaison and sharing among the growing number of military and civilian agencies involved in peace support were discussed by the experts. Another problem discussed by the participants was getting the intelligence information to the user in a timely fashion.

Slovenia's missing intelligence reforms

Article Abstract:

The Slovenian Intelligence Security Agency and the Intelligence Security Service of the Ministry of Defence coexist in Slovenia, some nine years after the country's independence from the Soviet Union. Both units are in need of reform, and possible unification, however there is little indication that this will happen.
