Lt. Cassandra Sanders: Preoperative Nurse, USNS 'Comfort'

Article Abstract:

Lt. Cassandra Sanders, Preoperative Nurse on USNS Comfort, joined the US Navy to pursue education in nursing and she feels that the most rewarding thing as a nurse is helping people, working with people and being able to share people's stories. Even the devastation of Hurricane Katrina where she was part of the rescue efforts did not shake her faith in her profession or in her God.

Roughead: Executing FRP means projecting power quickly

Vice Adm. Gary Roughead commands US Second Fleet and NATO Striking Fleet Atlantic, and is responsible for executing the fleet readiness program (FRP), a major restructuring of the NavyEs maintenance, training, scheduling and deployment processes to create a fleet that can surge to world trouble spots. He talks about the execution of FRP and his other priorities and challenges.
