State of marine aviation

Article Abstract:

A deputy Commandant for Aviation provides his annual assessment of Marine aviation with reference to his three priorities areas that include sustaining the current fight, modernizing the force, and preparing for the long war. He states that they would be implementing the Marine Aviation Transition Strategy in 2007, which is a phased, multiyear plan incorporating force structure changes to better balance the AC and RC capacity while simultaneously proving critical tables of organization (T/O) manpower increases to all flying squadrons and selected sections of the Marine air-ground (MAG) and Marine aircraft wing (MAW) headquarters.

Article Abstract:

The Deputy Commandant for Aviation assesses the state of Marine Aviation and shares his vision for the future of Marine aviation focusing on safety, aviation transformation, the budget and Tactical Aviation (TacAir) integration. The transformation of Marine Aviation especially Marine air command and control system (MACCS) modernization, improvisation of the Pioneer system and the role of the Marine Corps aviation simulator master plan (MCASMP) in the functioning of upgraded legacy simulators has been detailed.
