Strategic uses for Chinas bei dou satellite system

Article Abstract:

China launches three satellites Bei Dou IC, which is very different from the US navigation satellite system (GPS/NAVSTAR), the Russian GLONAS constellation and the planned European Galileo system based on its DFH-3 satellite bus and the final orbit insertion and station-keeping engine, which together have a mass of around 2,200kg. The utility of China's navigational satellite system is examined and its potential role in increasing the accuracy of ChinaEs strategic missiles is considered.

China expands its southern sphere of influence

Article Abstract:

In its increasing influence and global power, China has turned south, forging mutually beneficial relationships with its Mekong neighbors and other ASEAN member states by funding infrastructure and resource development and cooperating on regional security. In the context of evolving security dynamic in Asia, China's intensifying relations with these regions have helped to raise China's diplomatic stature.

Ukraine's missile capabilities cause proliferation concern

Article Abstract:

Ukraine manufactures despite their focus of missile manufacturing expertise on space launch programme there are high risk of proliferation of both military-related equipment and design expertise from the country. Lack of funding for its space programme and the modernisation of its armed forces have given the Ukrainian government reason to place a greater emphasis on maximizing arms export revenues.
