Submarine missile development launched

Article Abstract:

IDAS (interactive defense for air-attacked submarines), a fiber-optically-guided missile system, is designed to enable the submarine to engage airborne anti-submarine warfare (ASW) threats. The initiative for the development of this system was undertaken by the German-based naval shipbuilder Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft (HDW), missile company Bodenseewerke Geratetechnik (BGT) and NorwayEs Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace (KDA).

Kongsberg develops upgrade for Stryker weapons station

Article Abstract:

Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace is developing a first major block upgrade for the Protector remote weapons station (RWS) that it supplies to the US Army. Under an eight month, US$10 million contract awarded in mid-2004, the various improvements undertaken by the company for the weapons station, used extensively on US Army General Dynamics Stryker 8x8 armored vehicles in Iraq and elsewhere are highlighted.

Kongsberg fits Protector to Leopard 2A4 MBT for first-ever field demonstration

Article Abstract:

Kongsberg Protech has conducted a first-ever field demonstration of its Protector remote observation and weapon station on a Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (Munich, Germany) Leopard 2 main battle tank (MBT). The demonstration took place for 70 delegates on 26 April 2006 at the Norwegian Army's Rena base northeast of Oslo, involving a Leopard 2A4 of the Rena-based Telemark Battalion.
