THAADS scores at last

Article Abstract:

The contactor team headed by Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space has reported the successful interception of a target missile by the Theatre High Altitude Defence (THAAD) missile system during a test over White Sand Missile Range in New Mexico. The target, which simulated a SCUD ballistic missile was destroyed on impact. All the components of the THAAD system, including the radar, the Battle Management Command, Control, Communications, Computer and Intelligence system, launcher and missile, were successfully integrated during the test.

Industrial focus: First lightweight soldier power/fuel cell delivered

Small Fuel Cell AG, a technology and market leader in fuel-cell based energy-solutions, has developed a series of portable DMFC power-generation system for soldiers. The new system called "JENNY" provides a continuous power output of 25W directly from methanol, is light in weight, and can be connected to any standard military lithium-ion battery.
